Active Progressive Vitiligo – Clinical and Histopathological Response to Different Therapeutic Regimens

INTRODUCTION Vitiligo is an acquired idiopathic depigmentary disorder, which, though worldwide in distribution, is very common in India, Egypt and other tropical countries. While patients become desperate, develop a complex and social ostracism, a conscientious physician feels guilty because of his limitations. Though various aspects of vitiligo have been extensively studied, its etiopathogenesis is far from completely understood and the specific treatment still remains unsatisfactory. Because of its enigmatic character, vitiligo is tricky to treat especially when the disease is in the active progressive stage. Mofty & , Fitzpatrick and others have recommended psoralens in vitiligo without differentiation of vitiligo into the different stages.
